Workforce Connections is holding the first, of what we hope will be regular, RFP 101 Workshops aimed at extending our reach with organizations within the community and sharing information about our program funding opportunities. Timed with an upcoming Request for Proposal release around Re-entry services, the content of the event will familiarize potential partners with the purpose and intent of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), and educate them on how to improve their funding chances by well preparing and submitting proposals for consideration.

Workforce Connections in partnership with the Las Vegas Urban League, ReviewJournal.com, Nevada JobConnect and United Way of Southern Nevada will be holding a free job readiness workshop for veterans of U.S. military service (those who have served in any branch including Reserve and National Guard units). The workshop will include valuable sessions on translating military experience and skills to private sector job requirements, resume writing, interviewing skills, the federal job search, online job searching and more. Included in the event will be a mock interview session with employers and professionals, and drop-in resume critiquing.
